Conclusion

The question being researched was is Sexual education effective to youth. The question was answered based off the insight given by observing and interviewing participants and staff of Project Reach Youth. The definition of effectiveness for this research is giving students comprehensive information on contraception and sexual health in addition to providing teenagers between the ages of 13 to 21 with sexual health services. Using this definition of effectiveness and Project Reach Youth as a study sample the answer to the question is yes, sexual education for youth is effective.

Project Reach Youth provides at least 80 kids with sexual education at least three times a week at their location in the Sunset Park/Park Slope area. In addition Project Reach Youth goes out into the community in places like high schools, colleges, community events and sexual education events to educate people on their sexual rights in addition to advertising the services that their personal clinic provides. Project Reach Youth shows that sexual education to youth is effective because as long as the necessary information is comprehend and given out to as many youth as possible then they have been effective and completed their job for that individual person. Regardless of what that individual person has done with the information given to them, Project Reach Youth and and other sexual education courses/programs did their job which is to educate and suggest all of their possible health options.

A question that came up throughout finding the answer to the research question was, is 80 kids learning sexual education in this one program effective, the answer to that is yes. Project Reach Youth broadcast that their program has new spots opening every year for highschool kids to join, if they join or not is up to the individual tudents. Project Reach Youth only teaching 80 kids is effective enough because they announce the services they offered, and those 80 kids are the ones that took advantage of those services. There is room for growth and improvement within the sexual eduction. Every sexual education program is not the same and other researchers can look into the same research question and observe other sexual education programs across the country to examine if their programs are effective and successful and if not, they should determine how they can be improved.
